IL FIRE INSPECTORS ASSSOCIATION HONORS

STATE REPRESENTATIVE BOB PRITCHARD

Addison--Surrounded by fire safety officials from across the state, Rep. Pritchard (R-Sycamore) was presented an award in appreciation for his dedication to the fire service. The award was presented by Robert Morris, Executive Director of the Illinois Fire Inspectors Association (IFIA).

"Rep. Pritchard has been a strong advocate for fire safety issues in Springfield and has been an active member of the General Assembly's Fire Caucus," said Morris.

Cherry Valley Fire Protection District Inspector Allen Geezer explained how Rep. Pritchard recently sponsored legislation which would make it easier for local public entities to access special funds set aside to reduce tort liability, for the installation and maintenance of automatic fire suppression systems.

"Local community and fire departments know from experience that fire suppression systems save lives and reduce property damage," said Pritchard. "The latest fire service bill I am sponsoring would give local units of government the ability to use tort liability funds to install suppression systems."
